Event Objective To assess and improve problem-solving skills and time management by simulating real aptitude test conditions.
Event Summary To enhance the employability of students across Maharashtra, the Maharashtra Association of Training & Placement Officers (MaTPO) organized “MaTPO Aptitude Idol – 2024”, an online aptitude competition for First Year to Final Year students. The event was conducted on Saturday, 10th August 2024, from 08:00 am to 07:00 pm at our college. This initiative aimed to provide students with valuable aptitude practice and greater exposure to improve their employability prospects.

Event Objective To provide candidates with insights into the company, its culture, and job roles, helping them prepare effectively for upcoming recruitment processes.
Event Summary On August 2, 2024, the final-year students of St. Wilfred's College of Computer Sciences attended a Pre-Placement Presentation aimed at preparing them to become market-ready. The session was held at 11:30 am in the College Auditorium and was conducted by the Placement Cell of St. Wilfred’s College of Computer Sciences, in collaboration with “Skilling India.” The orientation provided students with valuable insights into the wide range of career opportunities offered by the company and guided them on the skills and competencies required to succeed in the industry. The session proved to be highly beneficial, laying the groundwork for the upcoming campus recruitment drive, which will soon be scheduled for prospective freshers.
The MCA Semester III (Final Year) students participated in the program with great enthusiasm. At St. Wilfred’s, we remain committed to nurturing young professionals who can not only generate innovative ideas and strategies but also efficiently manage modern technologies.

Event Objective To familiarize candidates with potential employers, understand job expectations, and build professional relationships that enhance the chances of securing placement opportunities.
Event Summary The Pre-Placement – Industry Ready interaction was held on 7th July 2024 at St. Wilfred’s College of Computer Sciences, organized by the Training and Placement Officer. The session began at 10:00 AM with a welcome address to the enrolled students, highlighting the importance of becoming industry-ready before appearing for placement drives.
The Training and Placement Officer initiated the session by briefing students about the current recruitment landscape and the expectations of employers from fresh graduates. Students were guided on essential aspects such as resume writing, interview preparation, workplace etiquette, and the importance of soft skills alongside technical knowledge. The discussion also emphasized adaptability, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills as critical attributes valued by recruiters.
Throughout the interaction, students were encouraged to actively participate, ask questions, and share their career concerns. The officer also explained the institute’s placement support system, the organizations that regularly recruit from the campus, and the importance of consistent skill development. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students gained clarity on career pathways and strategies to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. The session successfully laid the foundation for preparing them to face placement processes with greater confidence and competence.

Event Objective To practice and refine interview skills by simulating a real interview environment, receiving constructive feedback, and improving responses to enhance performance in actual job interviews.
Event Summary The objective of organizing this event was to provide students with a better understanding of interview procedures and expectations. The jury comprised three esteemed members, offering students a valuable opportunity to gain diverse perspectives and broaden their outlook. More than 40 students registered for the event, participating with great enthusiasm and energy.
The program was coordinated by the Student Coordinators of the Soft Skills Development Committee. Each participant was allotted a specific time slot, and the Mock Interviews were conducted accordingly. After every interview, students received constructive feedback on their resumes as well as their overall interview performance, including confidence, presentation, and project-related discussions.
Once all interviews were completed, the jury announced the results and recognized the top three performers as winners. The event successfully equipped students with practical insights, helping them enhance their preparedness for future placement opportunities.

Event Objective To effectively communicate key messages with clarity and confidence, engage and interact with the audience, and use visual aids and structure to enhance understanding and impact.
Event Summary Presentation Skills and Self Awareness’ for the FYMCA on 09th November, 2023. The session commenced with an activity and introduced the topic o “Presentation Skills” to the students. This topic was elaborated in-depth as it is an essential skill to possessing the corporate world. Faculties discussed a few tips to make a good presentation, the Dos and Don’ts of presentation and the common mistakes that occurred when a person was giving a presentation. More Emphasis was given on the importance of voice modulation, which helps in getting the presenter’s message across to the audience clearly and effectively.

Event Objective The main objective of a group discussion is to assess a candidate's ability to communicate, collaborate, and present their ideas effectively within a group setting.
Event Summary On 16th September, First Group Discussion was conducted on the topic “Social Media: Impact on Human Behavior and Society” At the beginning of the session everybody seemed hesitant in expressing their opinion but soon the discussion picked up the pace and the purpose of the discussion, which was to encourage students to speak up and boost their confidence, was fulfilled. The discussion was between three groups, first group chose to highlight the positive impact of social media, second group comprised of students who perceived negative impact of social media and the third group was the neutral group that apprised about both the benefits and challenges of social media. Points discussed in the favors of the topic were like "it makes people broad minded, helps in expanding knowledge, makes easy to find jobs, promotes digital marketing, access to more information and enhances social connectivity & communication". The views against the motion were "leads to false trap, self-obsession and materialism, means of spreading fake news, promotes gossips, trolling and addiction”. Lastly, we tried to draw attention of the students to summarize and conclude the GD highlighting all the important points discussed by all the groups.

For students aspiring for Placements after completion of studies, he explained the procedure of accessing various online portals like “SarkariNaukri.Com, INDEED.Com, Linkedin, Monster.Com, Free Job Alert.Com” students were addressed all the queries of all students regarding form filling and the procedure of applying for various jobs offered by Government, Semi-government organizations and Educational Institutes.
